Citadel Oral & Facial Surgery

Your First Visit

The initial consultation is very important, so that you may discuss with your surgeon your particular diagnosis and treatment options.

Medical conditions should be brought to your doctor's attention (high blood pressure, blood clotting problems, tendency to form excessive scars, etc.)

When you arrive, please check in with the reception staff. If not already done, you may be given some information to fill in, or will review it with a staff member. Please bring any insurance information so that we may expedite your reimbursements.

Be prepared to provide all information about medications on your health questionnaire, including any prescribed, over-the-counter, herbal remedies, vitamins, natural products and alternative medicines. It is very important to advise us if you are a smoker, since this may affect the healing of any oral or facial surgery.

If you are seeking facial cosmetic evaluation or treatments, note that these procedures are very individualized, therefore your surgeon and his staff will explain to you the different types of surgeries, injections, laser treatments, or other procedures that may best benefit you. Photographs and x-rays may be taken for study, and sometimes another meeting may be required to review the results of the first assessment and work with you to arrive at the desired treatment plan.

It is often advisable to bring someone with you to help recall details of the appointment or ask questions you may not think of at the time.

Please Note
** All patients under 19 should be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the consultation. **

We encourage you to return to your referring doctor after our specialized care is complete.
