About Us

Introduction

Citadel Oral & Facial Surgery is a team of oral and maxillofacial surgeons, Dr. Marco Chiarot and Dr. Joel Powell. Our specialty covers the diagnosis, surgical and medical treatment of diseases, injuries and defects of the mouth and facial region. Both functional and cosmetic aspects are addressed and patients of all ages are treated.

Rehabilitative procedures correct the results of birth defects, accidents, tumours, cancer, facial pain, malfunction of the jaw joints, sleep disorders, missing teeth and impacted teeth. The effects of aging on the face, including premature aging, can also be addressed.

At our disposal is the superb diagnostic, surgical and anaesthesia monitoring technology. In our state-of-the-art facilities, Citadels’ highly trained staff assists with a large range of procedures involving Local Anaesthesia (“freezing”) and Intravenous Conscious Sedation (“twilight sleep”). Patients are continuously monitored during and after surgery to ensure optimal safety. In addition, General Anaesthesia (being put “completely to sleep”) is available and provided by board certified anaesthesiologists at our East Coast MediCenter facility, which is fully accredited by the Canadian Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities.
